LiveStyled’s Top 5 successes of 2018

2018 was an amazing year for us here at LiveStyled. We have welcomed a number of new clients to the platform and have introduced a wide range of new features. We have also expanded our team significantly and can't wait for many more newcomers in 2019.

LiveStyled had a huge year of success, from record-breaking app launches to Awards being won, it has been a year to remember! Here are our most noteworthy moments.

#1 Winning ‘Best Venue Installation’ at the Event Technology Awards 2018

In November 2018, LiveStyled had the pleasure of being honoured with ‘Best Venue Installation’ at the Event Technology Awards 2018. The ceremony took place at the glamorous art deco Troxy in East London.

The award was based on LiveStyled’s work with Telenor Arena, Oslo and the implementation of their venue app ‘T·App’.

Judges commended how LiveStyled assisted the venue in enhancing the digital experience for attendees. Telenor Arena is a great example of this with App only bars and seamless purchase redemption via the T·App. This reduces queue times and drives incremental revenue for the venue.

#2 Michael Bublé in augmented reality (AR)

We are proud to have helped two of our partners, O2 (Telefónica UK) and AEG Europe, deliver an amazing AR experience for the fans of Michael Bublé via the LiveStyled powered venue app in 2018.

Fans could pose with the singer's avatar via a choice of four unique experiences. After appearing in a puff of smoke on the smartphone screen, the avatar either beckoned you over, kissed you or proposed on one knee - with a twist. The avatar could also be pivoted, scaled and rotated depending on the surrounding environment.

This was the first AR project for LiveStyled and was a huge success. The average time spent on The O2 app increased by 20% when the augmented reality feature was introduced.

#3 Launch of SIVLive app

In early September we welcomed the launch of the new SIVLive App for the FlyDSA Arena in Sheffield.

With a 13,600 capacity FlyDSA is the regions biggest capacity indoor arena and welcomed the Arctic Monkeys and Def Leppard to their stage in 2018.

SIVLive’s first major event was for the Arctic Monkeys 'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino' tour and, with such a high stakes launch, the app saw considerable early successes: 51% of people who downloaded the app became a customer and 91% of users registered their data through the app.

These were great results for their first major show and we can’t wait to see more success from the SIVLive app this year.

#4 Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time Hyde Park

In July 2018, Livestyled created the app for the much anticipated Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time, Hyde Park (BST). The festival was comprised of two weekends of music from the 6th - 15th July with music from Eric Clapton, The Cure, Roger Waters, Michael Bublé, Bruno Mars, Paul Simon, as well as a free outdoor cinema, Wimbledon screenings, street food and pop up bars.

Users of the app were able to plan a fun-filled day using the line-up builder, view exclusive content, get easily into the festival using an e-ticket, share e-tickets with friends via the app, upgrade tickets to Primary Entry and navigate around the park using the festival sitemap.

The festival was a huge triumph in 2018, with BST recording record revenues and ticket upgrades through the app.

AEG Presents Festival Director, Jim King said:

“It’s been an impressive first year working with the team at LiveStyled. The app really came in to its own at BST with a high percentage of the audience downloading. We took merchandise pre-orders through the app and the number of people choosing to upgrade their experience exceeded expectations. We’re now looking on to next year’s festivals and the improvements that we can bring to the apps, such as click and collect on site for Food & Beverage”.

The BST 2019 line-up is looking incredible and with the upgraded app fans will find even more engaging features, adding new features to the whole festival experience.

#5 Eurovision Song Contest Final at Altice Arena

May 15th saw the Altice Arena, Lisbon play host to the Eurovison Song Contest final. The competition saw Israel triumph and take home the crown with their entry Toy by Netta judged the best song out of the 26 finalists.

The app, designed & developed by LiveStyled, enabled the 20,000-capacity audience to download tickets to their phone (powered by the BlueTicket platform), order food & drink and enjoy a streamlined venue experience.

The roll-out was a huge success, with an impressive conversion rate of 71.5% from app downloads to purchasing and users placing an average of 2 orders each. The Altice Arena operational team ensured a fantastic customer experience with clear signage and well-trained staff at the venue. Customers were drawn to the app lanes offering speedier service than queuing at standard bars.
